Floor and attic thermal insulation optimally, with the use of Innopan PIR thermal insulation boards
When it comes to thermal insulation, usually the thermal insulation of the facade and the roof is the first thing that comes to everyone's mind, and we rarely think about the insulation of the floor and slab, or even the attic. Typically, however, the thermal insulation of the floor and slab is built into the structural layers, so their installation may be obvious during new construction, but it is rarely necessary to prepare them during renovation. Whether it is a heated or unheated floor, built-in or built-in attic space, Innopan PIR thermal insulation boards prove to be a great choice in every case. Thanks to their outstanding thermal insulation ability, only a minimal rise in floor level can be achieved with their use, since the required heat transfer factor (U value) can be met even with a minimal construction height. In the case of underfloor heating, our ALU/Therm thermal insulation board with double-sided aluminum casing proves to be a particularly useful choice, as the recommended thermal mirror film can be omitted with its installation. Our products have high compressive strength, so a load-bearing, step-resistant thermal insulation layer can be formed on our horizontal boundary structures.
Value expected according to hungarian regulation U = 0,30 W/m2K
In Hungary, the heat transmission factor (U value) will be subject to new energy requirements from 2024, which were set out in Decree 7/2006. (V. 24.) regulated by TNM decree. This maximizes the U-value of floors lying on the ground at 0.30 W/m2K. Of course, the regulation applies to newly built buildings, but it can also be a good guideline for renovations. The thermal insulation limit specified in the decree can be met with the Innopan PIR ALU/Therm thermal insulation board with a thickness of 50 mm.
Recommended value U = 0,20 W/m2K
The decree clearly defines the minimum requirements for thermal insulation, but at the same time, with a few centimeters of extra thermal insulation material, we can take a significant step towards a more energy-efficient home. In practice, this not only has a positive effect on living comfort - as it reduces temperature fluctuations - but also saves a significant amount of energy. The maximum thermal transmittance factor recommended by Innopan is U = 0.20 W/m2K, to achieve which an 80 mm thick thermal insulation layer is required using the Innopan PIR ALU/Therm thermal insulation board.
Passive house standard U = 0,10 W/m2K
A passive house is a building that is extremely energy-efficient, has low energy consumption, and provides a high level of comfort for the residents. Accordingly, the U-value of the installed thermal insulation far exceeds the standard defined by the decree. For the boundary structures of passive houses, the achievable thermal transmittance limit U = 0.10 W/m2K. To exceed this value, a 190 mm thick thermal insulation layer is required using Innopan PIR ALU/Therm thermal insulation boards.
Value expected according to hungarian regulation U = 0,17 W/m2K
From 2024, the heat transmission factor (U value) is subject to new energy requirements, which are regulated by 7/2006. (V. 24.) regulated by TNM decree. This maximizes the U value of attic floors and closing floors at 0.17 W/m2K. Of course, the regulation applies to newly built buildings, but it can also be a good guideline for renovations. The thermal insulation limit specified in the decree can be met with the Innopan PIR ALU/Therm thermal insulation board with a thickness of 120-140 mm.
Recommended value U = 0,13 W/m2K
The decree clearly defines the minimum requirements for thermal insulation, but at the same time, with a few centimeters of extra thermal insulation material, we can take a significant step towards a more energy-efficient home. In practice, this not only has a positive effect on living comfort - as it reduces temperature fluctuations - but also saves a significant amount of energy. The maximum thermal transmittance factor recommended by Innopan is U = 0.13 W/m2K, to achieve which, using the Innopan PIR ALU/Therm thermal insulation board, a 160-180 mm thick thermal insulation layer is required.
To exceed this value, a 210-230 mm thick thermal insulation layer is required using Innopan PIR ALU/Therm thermal insulation boards.
